What book should you pick up next?

I have read a lot of books in my life, and the questions what to read next always makes me wonder for a long time in front of my bookshelf, going through reviews and synopsis to determine what shall I pick next..
I always find people directing the same question to me, as they want to read but are not sure what to pick up, and trust me nobody likes a distasteful book, after all there are so many books out there and so little time left.
